January 2024

Happy New Year! I love fresh starts — new days, new weeks, new years — they all feel open with possibility! As I continue to turn to my Savior Jesus Christ, I realize how He is the Provider of that hope and possibility with fresh starts. I’m so excited to dance and create with you this year about His teachings and sharing His gospel (which includes fresh starts: choosing to try again, choosing to change). Join me for free community workshops, Spring ensemble season, or video projects later this year! More details and updates below:

Oh Come, Emmanuel

For Fall 2023 season, the Childrenโ€™s and Youth Ensembles connected their classwork and choreography to scriptures anticipating, describing, and celebrating the birth of our Savior. Our show, “Oh Come, Emmanuel,” featured both ensembles sharing the stage and dancing together.

Thanks so much again to all who came to support and watch the show!

Youth Activities

Luminosity is offering free activity nights for ages 8-18 this Spring. Connect to the scriptures in a new way and have fun dancing together through a 30-60 minute movement class (length of class is up to you and your group’s needs). Now accepting instruction requests for January 8 – April 30, 2024.

Learn more and schedule your activity today!

Spring Season

Luminosity is now accepting new registrations for the Childrenโ€™s Ensemble and the Youth Ensemble Spring 2023 Season! Returning dancers, remember to message the director to save your spot.

We’ll do another video parent meeting on January 27 at 4pm (link is sent after registering). Weekly classes begin February 2, 2024 and continue through March 30, 2024 on Saturday mornings.

The Children’s Ensemble will focus on in-class learning and movement experiences connecting to the book “I Want to Be Baptized” by Analisa Hall. There will be a performance the last part of class on March 30th.

The Youth Ensemble will focus on creating and performing together. Dancers will expound on the theme “I Know Who I Am” and have the opportunity to perform for family and friends as well as do a service tour performing at assisted living centers and other possible venues in April. Full details will be decided at the parent meeting.

There is no audition or previous dance experience required to join. Dancers need to be ages 5-14 as of September 1, 2023. Register online to reserve your spot!

I really enjoy my time between seasons playing with family and hope you do too! The extra time also allows me to plan for the next season and anticipate the fun and growth ahead. We’ve got good things coming, please join us for the Spring Season!
