2025 Review
We had a great year sharing God’s light through dance last year! Here’s a brief overview of the work we were able to do:

daCi Membership
Luminosity is officially a member of daCi, an international organization that supports quality dance education for children everywhere. Luminosity dancers are included with membership benefits including discounts on gatherings and dance workshops. There’s still time to register for the June gathering in Maryland, join us there this summer!
2026 Video Projects
Each year, Luminosity creates one or more uplifting dance films to share God’s light and goodness through dance online. Rehearsals, film dates, and locations vary each year depending on the project. Join us in the creative process as a choreographer and/or dancer, or join in the production process as a videographer, costume designer, location scout, video editor, sound design, or writer.

Luminosity Community Workshops are designed for adults, but mature dancers age 12+ are welcome.

Youth Activities
Book your free activity night for your group (ages 8-18) this year!
Connect to the scriptures in a new way and have fun dancing together through a 30-60 minute movement class (length of class is up to you and your group’s needs). Now accepting instruction requests for January 8 – April 30, 2026.

From the Director
It was neat to teach the Creation through movement this month and notice how different age groups responded differently to the prompts and challenges with each movement problem. The Children’s Ensemble loved dancing the animals, the Youth Ensemble had so much fun dancing with flashlights, and our adults gained new insights with near-, mid-, and far-reach movement connecting to the stars, moon, and sun. I had new thoughts and asked new questions each time we danced too even though it was a repeat experience for me. It reminded me how each day we are new and can look at things with new eyes. Each day we have a fresh start and can progress toward the person we want to become.
This lesson connecting to the Creation and others are available for free on our resources page. Consider using them as a personal movement devotional this season (or teach them to your own group). Then be sure to let me know how it goes!
