“Remember You Are Loved”

The Children’s and Youth Ensembles performed “Remember You Are Loved,” a 30-minute dance presentation inspired by Ellie Holcomb’s book “Don’t Forget to Remember” and focused on remembering the many ways God’s love is manifest in the world around us and how we can feel His love in different ways.

Thanks so much again to everyone who came to support these dancers and enjoy this message of love through movement and music.

Enjoy your winter break and we hope to see you again soon!

Thanks so much for another great season! As I edited our show video, I thought a lot about a comment from my friend Annie after we watched a dance concert together this fall. She said, “You can tell what companies value when you see them perform.” Some dance companies showcase great physical skill and synchronicity, while others showcase individual artistry and feeling, for example. I value the process of connecting to the Gospel of Jesus Christ through movement, I value individual growth in confidence and the community fostered through dancing together, I value creating a message worth sharing with friends and family — I hope you can see all that when you watch the dancers each performance. I am excited to implement some changes in class to challenge dancers’ physical skill development more intentionally — I learned so much from a dance teacher conference I attended this Fall!

There is a time and a season for everything. Enjoy this Christmas season of family time, giving, and love. Enjoy the season of closure at the end of another year and fresh starts as we enter a new one. I’ll also spend time enjoying my season of preparation for the next season of dance by continuing to update our website, recruit dancers to join us, write lesson and performance plans, and anticipate dancing with you again!
