There are two big changes as we transition from Summer season into Fall this year. As many of you know, I moved and therefore classes will no longer be offered in the Bay Area; online video classes are still an option for teens and adults, if that interests you please let me know! I am very excited to announce that Luminosity will be offering a Children’s Ensemble this Fall — find more details as well as this month’s updates below.

NEW! This Fall 2022, Luminosity Children’s Ensemble is for ages 5-8. Weekly classes will be held on Thursdays 6-7pm and an end of season performance on December 8 at the Amity Building in Meridian, Idaho. Registration is now open! Join us this Fall Season!
Summer Video Projects
We’ve been working hard the past few months and will soon have something to show and share! Look forward to two videos this month inspired by scriptures in Psalms:
“Be Still and Know” premieres August 8
Inspired by verses in Psalm 46, this solo incorporates different natural scenery to remind viewers of the power and peace we can find surrounded by God’s creations.
“Thankful Praise” premieres August 20
Connected with Psalm 100, this piece was started by Annie Hughes in November 2020 as an encouragement to be thankful for our bodies as they are and for what they can do now. Watch behind the scenes for a special glimpse of the scenery and challenges involved with this video project!
Call for Dancers
Luminosity is currently seeking all age movers in your community for a special video project in early 2023. We are also looking to build a group of Artists to create a performance together in the Boise, Idaho area in 2023. Contact LuminosityDanceCompany@gmail.com for more information.
New Lesson Resource
Connect dance to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bring uplifting dance to your community using this month’s new lesson plan. Please use and share these resources! They are great for a church youth activity, a friend dance day, or even experiences at home with your family. When you teach with them, please let me know! I love hearing stories of connecting through dance and coming closer to Christ.
- Direction with Elijah – “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word” (1 Kings 18:21). Elijah challenged the priests of Baal and the people to follow the God who listens to their prayers and accepts their offerings. After exploring different directions through full body movement, dancers can think differently about aligning our actions with the Christlike direction we want to move in life today.
This year has brought changes for Luminosity, yet we are happy and hopeful as we continue to build and share this dance company’s vision of sharing God’s light and love through dance. Thank you for your continued interest and support!
Luminosity Dance
