Like many of you, we are hopeful and excited for this new year! We are dancing and creating together in person again which feels so special every time we meet. This year you can look forward to new creative dance lesson resources each month, new videos on our YouTube channel each quarter, and new in person classes offered regularly.
Lesson Resources
Each month, look forward to a new lesson plan connecting a dance concept with scriptures in the Old Testament. Please use and share these resources! They are great for a church youth activity, a friend dance day, or even experiences at home with your family. Use the whole lesson as written or only use pieces and adapt for different age groups and solo exploration. When you teach with them, please let us know! We love hearing stories of connecting through dance and coming closer to Christ. Explore resources here
Videos
We have several dance for camera projects on the calendar this year. If you want to be involved, please email Micah at LuminosityDanceCompany@gmail.com with your availability and interest! If you want to see them first, subscribe to the Luminosity YouTube channel.
Regular Classes
For those who are in the Bay area, we are dancing in person again! Please come join us whenever you can. Email Micah at LuminosityDanceCompany@gmail.com or complete the form below to let us know you’re interested so we can send you the monthly email with specific dates, times, and location of classes. We are focusing more on community and faith building dance classes this year rather than performance. This is a great opportunity to dance with us without committing to a full season and performance.

Though 2022 still has continuing challenges and unknown obstacles ahead, we are happy and hopeful as we start this new year dancing together. Thank you for your interest and support in sharing God’s light and love through dance.
Project Update from 2021
Everything I did felt immeasurable and unnoticed. Then the 2021 Youth Album was released and I felt something. I felt reassurance that what I did mattered. My small contribution is helping with a Great Work beyond myself.
I wanted to create a dance with these feelings while pregnant and release it on Mother’s Day as a tribute and thanks to my mom, but I couldn’t quite get the footage and choreography how I wanted it.
After six months with my new baby, I revisited the footage and realized another way to make this creation I envisioned. I made it purposely choppy, segmented, and interrupted. We may not have beautiful transitions and meaning in every moment, but we should still do our best. There is repetition, seasons, cycles in life and we can embrace all those small things as we do this great work.
I hope the concept, music, and movement inspire or touch your heart for good.
